About

Lyndsay Price is a Liverpool based, queer spoken word artist with an interest in how art can be used as a tool for social change.

Lyndsay writes mainly about: relationships, sexuality, grief, nostalgia, fake news and ‘90s movies. Brutally honest and almost aggressively vulnerable at times, she is inspired by the things that make us human, and spends her days attempting to name the feelings that often leave us speechless.

Her spoken word night Rhymes & Records ran for two years and was listed as one of the top arts things to do in Liverpool. Lyndsay is the host of Salt Water Podcast, bringing people the best in poetry, spoken word, arts & culture. Her online course Season of The Witch ran last year, taking people through a 6 week process exploring poetry and its relationship to the supernatural.

Lyndsay has created work for Bullring Birmingham, Cruise Liverpool, FACT Liverpool, Eastside Arts, Beatfreaks and mac birmingham. She’s delivered multiple projects for Writing on The Wall, taking on a lead poet for I Know, I Wish, I will. She has been a guest judge for both The Axis Slam and The Roundhouse Slams Liverpool heat. She’s previously opened for Debris Stevenson, Dominic Berry, Joelle Taylor and Lowkey. She has performed at countless venues and festivals across the country.

Over the course of her career, she’s worked with out of work adults, veterans, children with disabilities, girls at risk of gang affiliation, refugee community groups as well as the queer community. Combined with her previous work as a children’s storyteller. The amount of young people engaged and workshops ran is now into the 1000’s.

I’m a big fan of trying to get people to embrace their emotions, and poetry is really how I channel that

— Matty “Delboy” Delaney, poet

”Lyndsay-Quinn Harley-Queer, she’ll beat you with her cursed tamagotchi, she’ll stab you in the funny bone with her pastel gel pens, but before all of that, she’ll melt your brains out with the brave sincerity of her poems”

— Day Mattar, Queer Bodies

“With charming candidness, Lyndsay Price uses poetry to make sense of her experiences.”

— Bido Lito

“Within her gentle voice there is an undercurrent of raw strength, as she delivers her beautifully crafted poetry with poise and power”

— Katie Nicholson - The Wordsmith

“Communities of poets can't help but form around her like moons around Venus or planets around a star. She shines a light of creativity, awakening and inspiring many to get into poetry as reader, audience, writer and/or performer.”

- Paul Pyke, Poet
